This is a picture from my third trip
to Peru.
The first and second one I spent in
Lima and in Huaraz.
Huaraz is in the Andes and the
hotspot of adventure and mountain tourism in Peru.
It is an incredibly beautiful place
but in many sense, much wealthier than Peru in general.
In Lima I visited the colonial center
and slept in a not-well-to-do neighborhood that the taxi drivers were afraid.
But still, it really wasn't that
poor.
The second time we went by car to
the northern part of Peru that is mostly desert.
And poor.
It is different to drive around
because you get to see things that you wouldn't see on foot, or traveling by
bus, or if you were in a tourist group.
It is hard to get by if you don't
have water.
The plants die without water, the
animals die without water, and finally, the people die without water.
This is a house in one of the little
villages in the skirts of the Andes in the Northern-Peru.
The quote is to remember the people.
And every day try to make decisions
that will ensure equality and better distribution of wealth in the world.
It may be little, but it is the best
I can do.
And the least they deserve.
Great quote, I really think this is one everyone should remember. Thank you
ReplyDeleteAll humans should have access to clean water, and be given the freedom to sustain themselves
ReplyDeleteMorality needs to be really changed so that everyone will get an equal share of resources. We have enough resources, we have great technology to deliver them, but we do not have the good will of everyone to do so.
ReplyDeleteI wish this will change in my life time.
So beautiful, we are all the same, united by one blood. Blessings!

As always another wonderful, inspiring post. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad that some people don't have access to a quality life like the rest of us. Knwoin this, we must be thankful for what we have and do what we can to help those who are less fortunate.
ReplyDeleteSuch an inspirational post, thank you for sharing this today :)
ReplyDeleteA very thoughtful post. There are some many living in such desperate situations. If we don't help them... Who will?
ReplyDeleteGreat quote and good reminder. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences.
ReplyDeleteWow beautiful post :) Very thought provoking. The quote is one I think we can all live by, thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteGreat reminder, especially since all Aussies are thinking about sacrifice this week with ANZAC Day.
ReplyDeleteYes, there should be better distribution of wealth so others can benefit of what resources their country has. We'll can poor people and communities in other parts of the world too especially remote areas. I worked part time in statistics office in my country before and I felt very sad about how my fellowmen were in struggle to make ends meet.
ReplyDeleteThis is really a great reminder, that the good you do shall follow you.
ReplyDeleteI have never been to Peru before, but it kind of reminds me of my own country the Philippines. I am also interested in visiting Ecuador though ever since I watched Samantha Brown's show. Thanks for sharing this one.
