And maybe you are considering how to make some fun activities for the kids.
But with a small budget.
Here are some frugal activities, but guaranteed to be fun, to enjoy getting back to school.
1. Water carrying
All the teams are organized in a line behind the starting line. The person in turn has a plastic spoon.
Everyone needs to go fetch water from a bucket and carry the water in the spoon until the team's water cup.
After leaving the water in the cup, the person goes back to the start line to pass the spoon to the next person in line.
The teams continue carrying water until othey manage to fill their cup.
The first team to fill the cup is the winner.
2. Match throwing
All the teams are organized in line behind the starting line.
The first person is given a match.
They need to throw the match as far as they possibly can.
The next person in team moves to the place where the match landed and throws the match forward from there.
Everyone in the team throws the match ones.
The team that reaches furthest is the winner.
3. Tower building
Each team is given two sheets of size A3 paper.
Using only the two sheets of paper the team must build a tower that can stand alone.
The team that builds the highest tower will win.
To make sure that the competition is fair, there can be a time limit how long the tower must stand alone to qualify.
4. Squeeze the bean
Each team stands in line behind the starting line.
The first person in each team is given a clothespin.
The team must carry as many beans as they can with the clothespin to their cup.
When the person with the clothespin has carried their fill of beans to the cup, they must pass the pin to the next person in the line.
The first team to fill the cup with beans is the winner.
5. Turn the paper
All the teams are given a large piece of paper with a black cross on it.
The temas are directed to stand on the paper.
They must stand on the side without the cross.
The teams goal is to turn the paper so that the cross on the other side is now up.
But they can never step on the ground.
The team whose member steps on the ground is disqualified.
The first team to turn the paper over is the winner.
