Seeing that the warriors were safely away, Lusiru and
Kuyllur sought the skies and called a bolt of lightning towards them.
It fell directly on the solid rock above the cave
opening.
Smaller stone broke from the wall and stumbled down,
towards the two brothers.
Together they called yet another bolt.
The fiery spear broke a huge rock and it tumbled down,
rolling downhill, away from the cave.
- Come, the brothers called the warriors, we need to
seal the entrance so that the jaguar men can never bother you again.
The warriors run towards the boulder.
Together with the two stars, using their spears and
backs, they were able to move the rock to seal the cave entrance.
After that they gather all the smaller rocks and
stones and to make sure that no one would be able to enter or exit the mountain
ever again.
- What are you going to do, Killa asked his wife, you
know you can’t change him back.
- I know I’m strong enough, Iluku answered, if only
there were someone here who can. Someone strong enough, someone with enough
magic to change shape when he wants to. And to who is strong enough to change
other beings shape too.
- Are you saying I’m supposed to do it, Killa balked,
is that why you just had to bring me here?
- Like you had anything better to do, his wife smiled
at him, help him, help them all! They need you!
Smiling and shaking his head Killa moved closer to
Amarun.
- Come away, girl, Iluku ordered Sisa, or he will
change you into something else too.
Sisa had kept whispering to Amarun all this time.
She wanted to make sure he knew she was here and that
she would not leave him, no matter what.
She could feel how much Amarun hated the old man, and
feared him.
- I can’t leave him, she cried, he’s too scared. He
will free himself and fly away!
- He will never be able to do that, Iluku reassured
Sisa, the magic I put in the net is too strong. It will not let him leave.
- But he is so scared, Sisa whispered.
- Sometimes we need to let our loved ones suffer for a
while, Iluku smiled sadly, to save them from a bigger suffering.
She looked Sisa straight to the eyes.
- Trust me, Iluku offered the girl her hand, Killa
will make sure Amarun will be fine.
Sobbing softly Sisa slided from Amarun’s back.
- It will just be a moment, she touched her loved one
for the last time, I promise!

ReplyDeleteI love how you take pictures and make your stories come to life that way. Very neat.
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures, they bring something even better to an already great story
ReplyDeleteNow I am engaged to the story. I want to know what happens next.
ReplyDeleteEach part of the story reminds me of what to be a folktale. Very fun story
ReplyDeleteThis one is sad. It's well written though, as usual.
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful way with words and pictures. You bring your characters to life and that's simply spellbinding.
ReplyDeleteI like reading your story, it is always so well written and always leaves me wanting more... I can't wait till next time.
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting story and the photos illustrate it well.
ReplyDeleteWow now i am set to read the rest. thank you x
ReplyDeleteWhat a great addition to this series. You are very talented!
ReplyDeleteI love that there are photos along with the story. Thank for adding the links so it is easier to find where to start. You should compile these into a book or is there one already available?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! It was really fun reading it. I am now a fan!
ReplyDeleteI always love reading stories with my kids. This one is really exciting & so interesting as well. The pictures are good enough to follow up with the story. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove reading these! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThe character names, do they belong to a single country? It look very foreign to me. I like how you put the previous chapters inside too, this is good for people to look back!
ReplyDeleteCharacter names are all from Ecuadorian Amazonic Kichwas. Sisa is a very common girls' name and means flower. Amarun is a boys' name, not as common though, and means boa. Among Colombian Kichwas it means the great winged snake, a mythological creature. Iluku is moon's wife, a mortal woman that fell in love with him and was turned into the great white owl, that is also called iluku. Killa means moon, and month, it is also the name of the moon deity. Interesting fact: the week is called Iluku Puncha, Iluku's Days.
DeleteHmm that snake, eek... Not too sure I would deal with that x
ReplyDeleteFascinating segment, and insightful explanation of the names. You've come a long way with the story; it has evolved beautifully.
ReplyDeleteGreat words and fantastic photos
ReplyDeleteGreat story! That snake will give me night mares!
ReplyDeleteI've just come across this story. I love the photos and look forward to reading the other segments.
ReplyDeleteThis is still the continuation of the story? The legendary concept of the story makes it more exciting to read.
ReplyDeleteVery compelling story. Keep writing !
ReplyDeleteGreat story. Action, drama and of course, LOVE is all over it. Can't wait for the next part.
ReplyDeleteScary and touching this time, and as always accompanied by great pics.
ReplyDeleteThe title for this installment 'The Lightning in my Hand' is extremely interesting. I like the photos that accompany this chapter.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos along with the story. :)
ReplyDeleteI have been following this series! Very exciting but your photos really do complete the story!
ReplyDeleteThis has a lot of chapters already since I first saw this story. The story is always exciting and always leave us wanting for more.
ReplyDeleteCalling a bolt of lightning to land to a solid rock isn't something easy to do. I think Lusiru and Kuyllur have some sort of special powers and communication with the gods to have made it possible.
ReplyDeleteLusiru and Kuyllur are the moon's twin sons and they are both stars in Amazonic Kichwa folklore. That is why they have special powers.
DeleteThis is such a great series! I keeping coming back to see what happens next!
ReplyDeleteGreat story! Very exciting indeed! Thank you for sharing with us =)
ReplyDeleteWow! This is a wonderful story! :)
ReplyDeleteLove all the pics here as well.

ReplyDeleteIt's nice to know that the pictures now relates more on the story being told unlike before. Though I honestly had to read it over and over to understand, I think I still really need to look back on other links to put the story all together.
ReplyDeleteSo great the way the pictures and the story weave a tale. Is it original by yourself? Amazing. I see there are lots of links to the rest of the story. You are dedicated xx
ReplyDeleteThis seems so sad... I haven't read the previous segments yet, so I'll get on to that asap! Anyway, I like the photos and the way you write. Keep it up! Can't wait to read what happens next.
